About

Inside the Mistletoe Holiday HouseLocated on the 45th parallel (halfway to the North Pole), Mistletoe Holiday House’s connection to Christmas’s past dates back several hundred years. Ancestors of our stores original owner, Jan Lautenback, helped make famous one of the most beloved Christmas songs ever written, Silent Night.

Jan’s great-great-grandfather lived on an Austrian farm, owned by Franz Gruber; the musical composer of the beloved Christmas song, Silent Night. Father Josef Mohr, the lyrical composer, was also a close family friend. Jan’s ancestors, often referred to as The Strasser Family Singers, were responsible for making Silent Night popular by singing it in concerts throughout Europe.

Today, this magical store is locally owned and operated by Sue Rief, whose love for the holiday season and unique ornaments is reflected throughout the invitingly cheerful and cozy atmosphere. Our promise is to provide something truly special for everyone from Halloween to Christmas through a vast selection of beautiful holiday treasures that will keep you coming back for many years to come.
